Eleanor Havsteen-Franklin in Denemarken
The world teems with things and organisms that cannot be seen. This concept is explored and revealed by the five artists behind the works on display in the exhibition, 'What We Do Not See'. Some are too small or too large, seem insignificant, or simply do not exist – and yet they are there. They lurk in the gaps and hide in plain sight, invisible to the naked eye. The microscope must therefore be brought out to magnify them. Others require a satellite view.
The group of five female visual artists works with graphics, painting, drawing, print/mixed media, glass, porcelain and sculpture :
Eleanor Havsteen-Franklin (London), who is inspired by flora, fauna and bodily forms. She explores visual hybrid entanglements.
Dorthe Saldern Meier (South Jutland): She creates visual narratives through details and reflections.
Berit Drøse (Copenhagen): She works with visual spaces that explore the connection between physical and mental reality.
Signe Adrian (Copenhagen): She cultivates surprising and impossible patchwork solutions to iconic and expensive brands.
Karen Bjerresgaard (Copenhagen S): She is inspired by past and present natural forms and explores the surreal micro/macro landscape in print and mixed media.
