Fading

Fading onderzoekt aan de hand van het werk van 40 Belgische artiesten, waaronder dat van Reniere & Depla, hoe zij in confrontatie met de multimediale maatschappij een eigen kritische beeldspraak hebben ontwikkeld en de grenzen van de vervaging in het picturale vlak aftasten. De tentoonstelling en boek vergelijken de verschillende artistieke dimensies in de reconstructie van het beeld. De catalogus is uitgegeven door Uitgverij Snoeck.

Fading est une exposition présentant une sélection d'oeuvres réalisées par 40 artistes belges, tous actifs sur la scène artistique internationale.Evénement inédit, l'exposition examine la face à la société multimédia contemporaine. De cette problématique clef de l'art actuel a émergé une exposition testant les limites de l'effacement dans l'espace pictural et les dimensions artistiques de la reconstruction de l'image. Fading brings together the work of 40 Belgian contemporary artists, all of them active on the international art scene. Fading examines how these artists derived their own critical expression from today's multimedia society, exploring the limits of faing in the pictorial space. The exhibition and the book - published by Snoeck Publishers - compare the various artistic dimensions involved in the reconstruction of the image.
